About Me
Energy Benchmarking is the method of tracking a building’s energy usage for the purpose of making comparisons. These comparisons could be internal, such as tracking a building’s energy performance in one year versus a previous year. It could also be external such as comparing a building’s energy performance to that of similar buildings. Energy Benchmarking is now being mandated by law in New York City, Washington DC, Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, and Cambridge. It is probable that many more municipalities will follow with benchmarking laws of their own.
